Indian Recipe - Capsicum Masala

Capsicum Masala is a North Indian dish and goes very well with chapatti or rice.

Ingredients :

  • Capsicum(big) - 2 no (each cut into small cubes)
  • Paneer - 200gms
  • Onion(medium) - 1 no(sliced)
  • Tomato - 1 no(sliced)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dhal - 1 tsp
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Groundnuts - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Cashew nuts - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilly powder- 1tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 tsbsp
  • Milk - 1/4 cup to soak cashewnuts
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt - To taste
 Method:

Heat 2 tbsp oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add cumin seeds, Coriander seeds, Urad dhal. When cumin seeds, coriander seeds & Urad dhal turn slightly brown add ginger garlic paste, 1 onion(sliced) & 1 tomato(sliced) to saute few minutes. Add capsicum and saute till capsicum is cooked.Add turmeric powder, chill powder, garam masala powder and salt. Soak paneer cubes in boiling water for few mins and drain out all the water. Add these paneer cubes to the gravy. Blend cashew nuts & milk into a smooth paste and add it to the gravy. Add 1 cup water and cook it in medium flame for 10mins. Garnish with coriander leaves.
